As a small business owner, you have to wear so many different hats. There are so many things that I struggle to do consistently and one of them is posting on our blog (and different social media platforms)
I don't set New Year's resolutions, but more goals that I want to accomplish. As I was walking the other day, going over the goals that I had set for myself this year and weather or not I had reached those goals, I realized that I had not been blogging as much as I wanted to. Mid November is the busiest time of the year for business owners, so lets add one more thing to my plate. Posting daily blogs consistently for 30 days.
Just do it for 30 days, it will get easier- that is what I tell myself. I also like to be organized, and I am hoping by publicly committing to doing this it might help, doubtful, but you never know. My hope is by making a list, I can stick to it easier. We are a few days in and I think it is going well.
A quick google search found that "On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And how long it takes a new habit to form can vary widely depending on the behavior, the person, and the circumstances. In Lally's study, it took anywhere from 18 days to 254 days for people to form a new habit".
One new habit I have also been trying to form is a more consistent sleep schedule. I am a night owl by nature, but Kelly is a morning person. Once his feet hit the floor he on the go until he stops at night. So I have been setting my alarm for 8 am every morning, even on the weekends. Most days I am up and ready to go before then, and it is getting easier. I do also see myself being more productive when I have a schedule and a to do list.
Here is my list of blogs I hope to share- full disclosure- I have already done 2 of these and this is counting as a blog post

Holy smokes that was difficult. Again, I get uncomfortable when I have to dig down inside of me to find stuff to talk about. To think, in high school I used to love writing. I wrote poems and short stories. Young Elizabeth even won a few awards in high school. Maybe doing this will motivate me more. Do you think I'll make it to 30 days?
